Why give?

Thank you for taking the time to look into being my patron! To give a little context, the art of music composition has survived on patronage for much of its history. Whether the Medicis of Florence, or the Esterhazys of Hungary, individuals have made profound impacts on artist’s ability to employ their craft. Recently, commercial or academic support have been viewed as the classical musician’s bread and butter. Unfortunately, both pillars of artistic opportunity simply cannot support the vast majority of talented artists, and have seen significant losses in the past few years. This puts the urgency for supporting future artistic endeavors on each individual who benefits from them. My primary goal with receiving donations is to be able to cover the expenses of future projects. Your gift is an investment in my capacity to have new works performed and recorded for you to hear!

what will my gift accomplish?

While composing itself doesn’t always require significant resources (though maintenance of instruments, updates to notation software, or purchase of fresh manuscript paper can sometimes add up), it does take significant resources to get a decent recording of a new work. Often, in an academic context, skilled performers will sacrifice their time to perform new works free of charge, however, the only decent expectation in the “real world” is to properly compensate such talented, qualified, and hardworking people. Your patronage through one time gifts makes it possible for me to offer that compensation to performers. Furthermore, good recording space and an audio technician’s time are certainly not free. These are the expenses I hope your generosity might offset. Every investment matters, and will ultimately return to you in the form of new music available here, in addition to knowing that you have helped performers and recording technicians to make their daily bread. Thank you in advance for your gift!
